Watch the 31st annual NHRA South Central division Lucas Oil Drag Racing 2018 will be taking place at Royal Purple Raceway, Houston,Texas from 23 March to 25 March 2018.Royal Purple Raceway appreciates a selective contract with the National Hot Rod Association to have a NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series National Event inside a 200-mile sweep of the Houston metropolitan zone, called the NHRA Spring Nationals. The track is possessed by the Angel Brothers of Baytown, Texas.
Consistently in the spring, Drag racing fans from the Houston,texas and around the nation rush to Royal Purple Raceway to witness a some of the fastest Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock racers. The leading racers make their way on top to the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series NHRA world championships.
On 2 March 2018, Royal Purple Raceway was reopened after upgraded facilities and improvements with a brand new race surface. It’s counted among the quickest and fastest drag strips in the nation and these upgrades should proceed with that heritage for some, more years to come. Pit Gates open in the morning at 8:00Am on Friday 23 March 2018, Qualifying and time trails begins at 9:00 AM. This schedule is repeated on the next day too which is on the 24 March Saturday. On the last day Sunday, 25 March the gates and spectator opens at 8:00Am and the Eliminations Continues at 9:00Am.
