Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the World Superbike championship 2020 season schedule was stopped. Recently WSBK revealed an eight-round provisional revised schedule 2020.
The WSBK was the only competition that finished their opening race at the starting of the year before the coronavirus outbreak. After the opening round in Australia, the world is locked.
Initially, the event scheduled to visit Qatar a week after MotoGP on 15 March, this was abandoned after the MotoGP occasion was dropped.
When MotoGP set two races in Jerez on July 19, the second round of the WSBK was tentatively scheduled for August 2 in Spain. The date remains before the WSBK travels to the Algarve in Portugal after a week.
The six races will be played with two back-back rounds from 28-30 August and 4-6 September in Aragon. The Spanish race will take place from 18-20 in Catalonia, before heading to France on October 2-4, 2020.
Depending on what is then viable in the world with regard to blocking measures, the WSBK hopes to drive a week later on October 9 and 11 in Argentina on the Villicum circuit, where the season finale was originally scheduled to take place.
The Misano race will take place on November 6 - 8, 2020. Both Misano and Argentina round is confirmed in the World Superbike provisional calendar.
