The promoters of FIA WEC and FIA have unveiled a provisional revised schedule that covers the rest of the 2019-2020 season. Due to the COVID-19 circumstances, a provisional schedule has been set up to complete the current 8-round season.
The WEC CEO Gerard Neveu said, that the evolution of this worldwide health issues leaves us with no choice. Today it is difficult to consider arranging a global motorsport occasion before the late spring, so we have adjusted the schedule accordingly and kept the same number of occasions on the calendar.
Although, we have to set up a few big modifications for the next season as we have to take many parameters, beginning with the unavoidable financial troubles that will come.
At the moment our top priority to secure everybody health and we wish that everybody will take good care of themselves and their families in the coming weeks.
The season 8 World Endurance Championship will begin on 15 August 2020 with the TOTAL 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. The 24 Hours of Le Mans, which, as already declared by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest will be held from 19-20 September 2020. The 1000 miles from Sebring race was canceled and is replaced by the Bahrain 8 Hours which will be held on 21 November 2020, this will be the last race of season eight of the FIA WEC.
